Auckland Drupal Meetup - Get from D6 to D7+

Just a quick note that we're hosting the next Auckland Drupal Meetup in our offices.

The topic is upgrading from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 and beyond - at this point it looks like it will be a discussion on the different options, though I'd quite like to do a live demo! There’s a particular scene in the great Monty Python film ‘The Life of Brian’ where the PFJ (Peoples Front of Judea) get told of Brian’s imminent crucifixion and spend the next hour deliberating on what to do without ever actually getting much done. In the end the best Brian is offered is a barbershop rendition of “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” and a small round of applause for his service to the PFJ as he faces his demise in the middle of desert.So how do we get from here to outsourcing digital projects?

Developing Apps for smartphones and tablets can be an incredibly confusing process and a huge resource sink of both time and money. Some drawbacks include needing to;develop completely different sets of code for Android, iOs, and Windows, design different interfaces and user experiences for each maintain those separate apps re-submit them to their respective app stores every time you need to change a line of code.In other words, it can range from being a real headache, to a complete nightmare.
