What’s keeping you up at night?
We help organisations grow by discovering opportunities for digital innovation and then delivering it.
The business leader's dilemma
“The purpose of business
is to create and keep a customer.”
You’re here because something’s troubling you. As a business or project owner - a leader, you’re trying to grow your business, but the usual methods don’t seem to be working. You’re frustrated with inefficient processes, threatened by more agile competitors, or inspired by opportunities you can see on the horizon.
The problem is - what do you do about it?
What is innovation?
“Innovation is taking two things that already exist
and putting them together in a new way.”
You’ve heard the term - innovation. You know you need to be doing it, but you’re not entirely sure what it really is and how to go about it.
Think of it like this;
Your business was created to help people solve a problem. You might not have expressed it that way but it’s true nonetheless. You saw a way you could help them achieve their goal, and you provided the means to do so, with a benefit they were willing to pay for.
Innovation is similar.
Innovation is about discovering a real problem people experience and solving it in an original way with technology or processes. It involves truly understanding the people you are trying to help, and uniquely connecting them with new or existing solutions.
To make it a business innovation, it also needs to grow the business; either by increasing revenue, decreasing expenditure, or protecting and consuming market share.
How to innovate
“While leaders spend considerable time and effort
trying to envision markets and pushing out innovation,
empathy can often generate simple, yet breakthrough ideas.”
Most businesses struggle to innovate because they are trying to find ideas they can execute using their current business model and the resources they have at their disposable. They look closely at what they can do, not what they should do.
But innovation is not about execution - it’s about discovery.
Innovation happens when you stop trying to convince people to love what you do, and instead you do the thing that people love.
You need to discover what people really need and provide it better than anyone else. That might mean cheaper, faster, or more convenient, but above all, it must solve their problem completely. And you won’t learn what their problem is and how to solve it while you are inside your business.
Innovating inside your business can be difficult. You need to form a team with the right creative and empathic mindset, encourage them to put your customer first, and empower them to validate new ideas without undue fear of failure. A culture of innovation is a tall order for a lot of businesses and many struggle to achieve it.
Webscope - The Digital Innovation Business
“If you look at history, innovation doesn't come
just from giving people incentives;
it comes from creating environments where their ideas can connect.”
To truly innovate, you need to think outside your business. That absolutely means you need to talk to your customers - after all their opinion is the only one that will grow and sustain your business. But it might also mean that you need help from someone who thinks outside your business - someone who can advocate for your customer and imagine what your business could be, not just what it is today.
At Webscope we already live in a culture of innovation. We’re thinkers, doers, and listeners. We convert experience, invention and insight into opportunities for growth. We ask ‘what keeps you up at night’ then we make the promise to do something about it.
We help businesses innovate.
We know there is always a lack of time, a lack of manpower, a lack of expertise, or even a lack of stakeholder buy in. You don’t have to do it all on your own. Realising opportunities and constantly innovating doesn’t have to be difficult. Yes, it will be challenging, but it will also be inspiring, and that’s why we love it.
We have the time, we have the manpower, we have the expertise, and we’re truly committed to helping you succeed.
We’d like to help you innovate.
