Making connections and riding for fun (and obviously to win)

We turned a passion into a small community of like minded enthusiasts

Introducing Team Webscope Giant

Webscope Cycling Team

Team Webscope formed a few years ago when a group of cyclists chasing their youth got together to ride socially and compete in local races throughout New Zealand. With everyone approaching or already passed the big ‘four zero,’ they were not the well oiled machines we see riding in the Tour de France, nor were they the elites we see competing in New Zealand’s top races.

No, Team Webscope Giant are a group of everyday people holding down busy day jobs and juggling family that share a passion for cycling and a desire to get better while having some fun along the way.

Riding social and
riding local

At the heart of Team Webscope Giant is the idea of riding social and riding local, and by zipping along the rural and coastal roads of New Zealand at a handy pace, they have fostered a community of passionate cyclists that have started to make a name for themselves in Auckland’s cycling scene. Included in the team are cyclists like Tim Clark, director of the digital development company Webscope, accompanied by team members from Haydn + Rollett and other great New Zealand companies. With a fantastic last season, including race wins and podium finishes at the Bay of Plenty tour, Taupo Open Grade and the Auckland Champs Masters, the team are kicking into gear for the 2017 season and are also proving to be a great way of bringing like minded businesses together.

Giant Bicycles are a global bicycle manufacturer, recognized as the world's largest. They are the key sponsor to the professional German cycling team Giant-Alpecin and are now the lead sponsor of Team Webscope. As Giant enthusiasts already, it was a perfect match for the team, and in sponsoring them, Giant extends its goals of being involved in New Zealand cycling at a provincial level with a group that lives and breathes not just cycling but Giant bikes as well.
